In fact, everything seems to be fine in the toy world around Buzz Lightyear and Woody, but then flea market and one of the toys, a little penguin, is to be sold. Of course, Woody can't let this happen so easily, so he starts a rescue operation without wanting to go wrong. The cowboy figure can save the penguin, but is itself removed by Al, an unscrupulous toy dealer. As it turns out, the toy figure "Woody" is a coveted collector's item of a western series from the 50s. With Woody, Al has now completed his collection and can now sell the figures to a Japanese toy museum for a lot of money. While the other "collectors" look forward to the museum because they have been locked in a dark box for years, Woody wants to go back to his friends. And help is already coming: Buzz Lightyear can't let his best buddy hang out and so he sets off on an adventurous odyssey with some other toys to free Woody...
' The Toys Are Back In Town'! The true heroes of film history are not James Bond, John McLaine or Indiana Jones, no, it's Woody and Buzz Lightyear! Pixar has managed to bring a film into the cinemas with Toy Story 2, which really deserves the title "family film", because while other animated cartoons are only intended for children, this film manages to entertain adults really well. But first things first. The most obvious thing about an animated film is of course the trick technique! ). Perfectly animated toys, a realistic environment down to the smallest detail, that's what it has to be. But that alone does not make a good film. But' Toy Story 2' also has a really' nice' story. Of course, there is no need to talk about' realism' here, but John Lasseter manages to tell a really funny story, a kind of modern fairy tale about' heroic' toys. Toy Story 2' is not a real comedy, but the small, partly hidden gags (especially allusions to movies like' Star Wars' or' Jurassic Park') are the main attraction of this movie. Also positive, and this makes the film a bit more' adult-friendly', are the minimally reduced obligatory' singing parts' (there are only 2), which have been integrated into the film adä quat.
In short: Toy Story 2 is fun for the whole family. Super animation technique, good gags, nice story - really good entertainment!
